Sacha Gillen, born in Luxembourg in 1988, decided to pursue architecture studies in Austria in 2010. During these formative years, he developed a deep affinity for art and photography. Over the years, a distinctive style emerged, blending abstract concepts with deeply personal themes. This work often explores the realms of the subconscious, mental health, and the pursuit of a timeless aesthetic.
In Sacha Gillen's photographic work, abstract photography stands out as a central form of expression. His portfolio includes portrait photography, still-life compositions, and street photography. The abstract photographs are characterized by the deliberate capture of blurred, partially out-of-focus images that capture the moment between clarity and ambiguity. Everyday life serves as a reference point, emphasizing that it is not always about seeing every moment clearly but also about enduring those marked by indistinctness.
Driven by the desire to unite the worlds of photography and painting, Sacha Gillen is constantly seeking innovative ideas and new boundaries. One of his main goals is to introduce fresh ideas and perspectives in the field of fashion photography. The artistic expression and collaboration between model, makeup artist, stylist, and photographer play a crucial role in this endeavor. Sacha Gillen aims to challenge traditional norms and explore new areas. In doing so, he incorporates painting as an additional element into his photography.
